The 1000D nylon construction provides abrasion and tear resistance well above lighter 600D or 500D fabrics, holding its shape even under load. In practice, this means the pouch mouth stays open and accessible during intensive use, without the walls collapsing onto whatever has been dropped inside.

Like all open-top dump pouches, the BP44 prioritises speed of insertion: you drop the empty magazine in without any retention device, snap, or need to look. The trade-off is the one inherent to the category — retention relies on the pouch geometry rather than a closing mechanism, so it is not suited to anyone operating in inverted positions or with sustained acrobatic movement.
