ESS ICE-2LS Ballistic Eyewear — Two-Lens Kit

The ESS ICE-2LS are ballistic eyewear with two interchangeable polycarbonate lenses, designed for use in varying light conditions: military personnel, law enforcement, rescue operators and sport shooters. The kit includes a clear lens for low light or indoor environments and a dark grey lens for full sunlight, both 2.4 mm thick and treated with ToughZone scratch-resistant coating.

Ballistic resistance meets NATO military requirements and the MIL-PRF-31013 standard, which includes testing with a 0.15-calibre projectile and verification of resistance to close-range firearm impact. The polycarbonate absorbs ultraviolet radiation and reduces solar glare without compromising visibility in shade: the grey lenses allow accurate visual reading even in mixed-light situations, unlike mirrored lenses which can create glare zones. The total frame width is 140 mm, sized to fit a wide range of facial profiles.

The temples are adjustable and mouldable, allowing a stable fit even on operators wearing a helmet or ballistic hearing protection. The ICE-2LS can accommodate an Rx insert for prescription lenses, which can be fitted by an optician, making them suitable for those who cannot wear contact lenses on duty. Lens swapping is done manually and takes a few seconds: this is not a quick-release system, but it provides a more secure hold under intensive use.
