The Pilgrim Anorak is a half-zip anorak-style jacket designed for demanding outdoor use in variable weather conditions. The elongated cut covers the lower back and hips regardless of what you wear underneath or carry at the waist, and is available in 7 sizes from XS to 3XL, with sleeve lengths ranging from 77.5 cm to 85 cm.
The fabric is a cotton treated with a water-repellent finish that sheds light rain and dries faster than untreated standard cotton. The natural-fibre construction provides worthwhile passive breathability during active approaches, but it is not a substitute for a waterproof membrane: in heavy or prolonged rain the fabric will absorb moisture. The upside is that it can be re-waxed with natural-origin wax to restore repellency over time, without relying on chemical sprays. The material is also spark-resistant, which matters around a campfire.
The front zip sits lower than on traditional anoraks, allowing you to open the jacket to ventilate your chest during climbs or physical work without losing coverage over the torso. The kangaroo pocket is insulated on the inside and features internal webbing loops for securing items or cables; the side pockets remain accessible when seated or kneeling — a detail that anyone carrying a pack all day will value more than a high chest pocket. The hood adjusts on three axes, the buttons are of the Canadian snap type, and all zips are YKK.
