Miltec VAR Reducer for 2 kg Gas Canister — Silver

Metal adapter for connecting the VAR 2 field stove to large canisters with a 3/8 thread, such as 2 kg MEVA-type cylinders. It allows the stove to run from a larger gas reserve than standard cartridges, which is useful on extended outings where fuel consumption matters.

The reducer is screwed onto the stove first, then the whole assembly is attached to the canister. Removal follows the reverse sequence: first unscrew the assembly from the canister, then remove the reducer from the stove. This sequence is necessary to prevent gas leaks during the operation and must be followed every time.

2 kg canisters operate at a significantly higher pressure than standard butane cartridges. After connecting, it is therefore essential to set the flame to a low output: running the stove at full power does not speed up cooking proportionally — it increases gas consumption considerably and risks overheating the burner. Adjusting the flame is an integral part of correct use, not an option.
