The ABS shell distributes impact across a wide surface area, reducing load concentration on the olecranon process. The EVA foam layer absorbs residual energy and ensures comfortable contact even during prolonged sessions on abrasive surfaces such as tarmac or gravel.

Attachment is via elastic straps with hook-and-loop closures, individually adjustable on each pad: the trade-off of this system is that it allows quick fitting and a precise fit across different arm circumferences, but requires careful initial adjustment — a strap that is too loose reduces shell stability during movement, while one that is too tight may restrict circulation during extended shooting positions.
