The AFG M-LOK Adapter Rail is Magpul's polymer rail designed to mount the AFG-2 on any M-LOK-compatible handguard. With an overall length of 119 mm and a deliberately lower profile than a standard Picatinny rail, the adapter sits flush with the handguard surface, eliminating any step or discontinuity you would otherwise feel under your hand while shooting.
The low profile is a deliberate engineering choice with a specific practical result: the AFG-2 mounted on this adapter sits at the same height as a foregrip installed directly on Picatinny, keeping your support hand at the bore axis without raising it. Shooters running slim-profile aluminium handguards can use the AFG-2 without giving up the compact profile of the system. The trade-off is that the adapter adds one installation step compared to an already-integrated rail: you first secure the rail to the M-LOK slots, then attach the AFG-2 to the rail. The final rigidity is comparable, but the installation process requires careful attention to slot alignment.
The rail features 3 M-LOK slots and comes with all the hardware needed for direct mounting on aluminium or polymer handguards compatible with the M-LOK standard. Not compatible with the MOE AKM Hand Guard.
Key points
- The low profile keeps the AFG-2 at handguard height, with no noticeable rise under the support hand.
- The 3 slots match the AFG-2 footprint exactly, allowing natural alignment without any adjustment.
- Polymer from the same production batch as other Magpul accessories: consistent material properties and thermal expansion with the rest of the system.
- Included hardware allows immediate installation on M-LOK aluminium or polymer handguards, with no additional purchases.
- The compact 119 mm total length leaves adjacent slots free without wasting space on the handguard.
