LPVO Riflescope Vector Optics Forester Jr. 1-4x24 SFP — Black

The Forester Jr. 1-4x24 SFP is a compact LPVO riflescope designed for medium-range shooting on carbines and lightweight hunting rifles. The 30 mm 6061-T6 aluminium tube and a modest weight of 390 g over a total length of 260 mm make it well suited to setups where weight matters as much as optical performance.

The second focal plane (SFP) means the VFD-3 reticle dimensions remain constant regardless of magnification: at 1x, the 24.4 m at 100 m field of view allows rapid target acquisition at close range with both eyes open, while at 4x the field narrows to 7.9 m and the reticle becomes a tool for range estimation and hold-over compensation. The typical SFP trade-off applies: the reticle's metric subtensions are only correctly calibrated at maximum magnification, not at intermediate settings. Shooters who use the reticle purely as an aiming point without reading subtensions will not notice this limitation.

Windage and elevation adjustments are made via capped turrets with a click value of 1/2 MOA and a total adjustment range of 100 MOA per axis. Parallax is fixed at 45.7 m — a sensible choice for the typical engagement distances of this magnification range, eliminating one variable while making the scope less suitable beyond that distance where parallax error may become noticeable. Eye relief between 90 and 110 mm provides sufficient margin when using ballistic masks or wide-brimmed headwear. Fully Multi-Coated (FMC) optics on all lenses and nitrogen purging ensure consistent light transmission and prevent internal fogging. Water resistance is certified to IPX4, with a recoil rating of 750 G.

Key features

• The 24.4 m at 100 m field of view at 1x allows rapid target acquisition without lifting the eye from the scope, even in dynamic scenarios.
• The 30 mm 6061-T6 aluminium tube delivers structural rigidity while keeping weight down to 390 g.
• Capped 1/2 MOA turrets protect adjustments from impact and dust without compromising zeroing precision.
• The VFD-3 second focal plane reticle remains readable at all magnifications, with subtensions correct at 4x.
• Eye relief between 90 and 110 mm maintains a safe distance from the brow on hard-recoiling calibres.
• Nitrogen purging and IPX4 certification protect the scope from moisture and internal fogging in variable weather conditions.
