Helikon-Tex Wolfhound Hoodie Jacket

The Wolfhound is an ultralight hooded jacket designed for those who need compressible thermal insulation to wear as a mid-layer or as a standalone piece in cold conditions. The 67 g/m² Climashield® Apex™ synthetic insulation retains warmth consistently even when the fabric becomes damp — a property that wool and down do not offer in the same way.

The WindPack® nylon outer shell blocks wind and sheds light moisture, though it is a DWR treatment rather than a waterproof membrane: this jacket is built to be fast, light and packable, not to replace a rain shell in heavy downpours. VersaStretch® panels under the arms and at the cuffs address the classic trade-off of insulated jackets: they allow breathability and freedom of movement where stress is highest, without giving up warmth across the main body. This construction makes it well suited to dynamic layering — cutting wind on descents and moving freely on climbs.

The pocket layout is designed for practical use: a chest bellows pocket, two lower hand-warmer pockets fleece-lined to keep hands dry and warm, and an internal zip pocket for valuables. The jacket packs into its own internal pocket, forming a compact bundle that tucks easily into a pack. The elasticated hem on the hood and the drawcord with cord lock at the lower hem let you fine-tune the fit when layering over other garments. A hook-and-loop panel on the sleeve accepts identification patches.
