Helikon-Tex Wolfhound Hoodie Jacket

The Wolfhound is an ultralight insulated hooded jacket designed for anyone who needs packable warmth in minimal space: it works as a mid-layer over a softshell or on its own during cold shoulder seasons, and suits hunters, shooters, and anyone spending long hours outdoors in variable cold conditions.

The insulation is Climashield® Apex™ at 67 g/m², a continuous oriented-fibre construction that, unlike down, retains its thermal properties when wet. The outer shell is WindPack® nylon — light and packable — that blocks wind and sheds light water: this is not a membrane waterproof fabric, but a DWR-treated shell adequate for light rain and wind, used alongside a dedicated outer layer when conditions deteriorate. This trade-off delivers very low weight and a level of packability that few insulation systems can match.

The side panels under the arms and at the cuffs are in VersaStretch®, an elastic fabric that increases freedom of movement during quick transitions and reduces overheating during periods of intense activity. The four pockets — one chest pocket, two fleece-lined hand-warmer pockets and one internal zip pocket — cover the needs of those carrying small valuables in the field without adding bulk. The elasticated hood hem and drawcord-adjustable hem allow fit to be tuned even when worn over other layers. The hook-and-loop panel on the sleeve accepts identification patches.
