Chest rig Helikon-Tex Guardian Recce Cordura — Green

The Guardian Recce is a chest rig in 100% nylon Cordura® at 235 g/m², designed by Helikon-Tex for reconnaissance operations and field tactical use. Empty weight is 823 g, with dimensions of 55 cm wide, 23 cm tall and 8 cm deep, distributing the load across the chest without crowding the hips or restricting arm movement.

Its primary function is carrying ammunition: four front pockets with buckle closures accommodate AK or AR-15 magazines, keeping them secure even during fast movement. The buckle closure provides solid retention and is unlikely to open from accidental impact, but requires a deliberate action to draw — a reasonable trade-off for those who prioritise magazine security in the field over the maximum-speed access offered by open-top elastic pockets.

The lateral MOLLE/PALS surface allows the system to be expanded with additional pouches. At the centre front there is an admin pocket with a soft velcro inner panel, compatible with Helikon-Tex VIS system inserts, and an adjustable opening to prevent contents from falling out. The two universal side pouches accept grenades or, with Competition Series inserts, pistol magazines. Inside the main body there is a zip pocket for maps, notebooks and documents, alongside two flat internal rear pockets dedicated to radios.
