ESS Vice Rx Lens Insert – Corrective Optical Insert

The ESS Vice Rx Lens Insert is a metal-frame insert designed to integrate prescription lenses into the main ESS ballistic eyewear models, without giving up optical correction in service or in the field. It is compatible with the ESS Crossbow, Crosshair, Suppressor, ICE, ICE NARO and Advancer V-12, covering a diopter correction range of –6 to +6.

The metal frame ensures dimensional stability even under vibration and recoil, keeping the corrective lenses aligned with the optical axis of the eyewear. This is the detail that sets an insert designed for operational use apart from a basic civilian adapter: the geometry stays true to spec even after hundreds of sessions.

The trade-off to factor in is logistical: the insert ships with non-corrective DEMO lenses. Prescription lenses must be ordered and fitted separately by an optician, which adds a step before the system can be used in its operational configuration. In return, the wearer retains full flexibility: if the prescription changes, only the lenses need replacing — not the frame or the eyewear.
