ARDON V20 Ballistic Safety Glasses — Clear

The ARDON V20 are protective glasses with a classic design, built for those who need a wide field of view and reinforced coverage in the supraorbital area without sacrificing natural, colour-true vision. The clear polycarbonate lens with UV filter is certified to EN 170 and achieves optical class 1 – the highest level defined by the standard – making them suitable for extended wear without eye fatigue.

The marking 2 – 1.2 1 FT O indicates FT mechanical resistance: the lens can withstand low-energy particle impacts while maintaining its rated integrity even at extreme temperatures. For glasses intended for use on the range, in the field, or in work environments involving ricochets, brass fragments, or abrasive particles, this certification is the figure that matters – not a vague, unquantified impact resistance claim.

The nylon frame is lightweight and compatible with most ear-cup hearing protectors. The 4-position adjustable temples allow length to be set to suit individual facial geometry without any tools – a practical advantage for those wearing the glasses for hours at a time, or for those sharing them among several operators. The trade-off to bear in mind is that clear lenses offer maximum vision indoors or in low natural light, but do not reduce glare in direct sunlight: for outdoor use in bright conditions, a tinted or mirrored lens version is worth considering.

Key features

• Optical class 1 to EN 170 ensures distortion-free vision even during prolonged use, reducing eye strain.
• The FT marking certifies resistance to low-energy impacts even at extreme temperatures, not just under standard laboratory conditions.
• The UV filter in the clear lens blocks ultraviolet radiation without affecting colour perception of the surrounding environment.
• The 4-position temples allow the glasses to be fitted to individual facial shape, improving comfort during extended wear.
• The frame profile provides reinforced coverage in the supraorbital area, reducing the risk of debris entering from above.
