The FMA AN-PEQ-15 Upgrade is a compact tactical illumination unit combining three separate sources — white light, green laser and infrared illuminator — in a PEQ-format body designed to mount on a Picatinny rail or M-LOK with an adapter. It is built for those who need multiple functions on a single platform without running cables between separate devices. Power comes from two CR123A batteries or two rechargeable 16340 / RCR123A 3 V or 3.7 V cells, giving the choice between maximum runtime with primary batteries or the ability to recharge in the field.

The control logic is organised into five modes selected via a rotary switch: AL momentary (white light only, active while the button is held), O constant-on (steady white light with a double press), P momentary and constant (green laser), AL combined (green laser and white light together) and DL (IR light). This separation ensures that the laser or IR can never be triggered accidentally when only white light is needed, reducing the chance of position disclosure in situations where it matters. The remote pressure switch included in the box allows the control to be mounted in an ergonomic position on the grip or jacket attachment point, while the unit itself stays fixed on the optic or handguard.

The IR illuminator addresses a specific requirement: users operating with night-vision systems can use the device as an auxiliary illuminator without emitting visible light. The green laser is visible to the naked eye even under moderate daylight and is intended for rapid target acquisition at close range without shouldering the weapon. It should be noted, however, that the FMA AN-PEQ-15 Upgrade is a replica device: laser and IR output levels are not comparable to systems certified for military or government use, and the device is intended for training and sport use, not for operations requiring calibrated and certified IR emissions.
