Helikon-Tex Alpha Tactical Fleece Jacket

The Alpha Tactical is a thermal fleece jacket designed as a mid-layer for shooters, operators and anyone spending hours outdoors in cold conditions. Weighing 630 g, it balances insulation and packability: it compresses small enough to fit in a pack pocket and is ready to wear within seconds. The construction is an evolved version of the original Alpha, with additional velcro panels on the sleeves for attaching kit without removing the jacket.

The layering concept is the defining feature of this model. The fleece functions as the insulating layer in the Urban Tactical line, designed to be worn under a softshell or hard-shell when temperatures drop, or on its own during transitional seasons. The mesh lining on the inner surface improves glide over base layers and prevents the fleece from clinging to the skin, keeping comfort during movement. The high collar and chin guard on the front YKK zip eliminate cold spots in the most exposed areas without needing an additional layer at the neck.

The pocket layout reflects a precise tactical intent. The two lower side zip pockets and the chest pocket with cable management port let you keep tools, documents or comms devices within reach without opening the jacket. The bicep pockets with velcro panels are the characteristic trade-off of this approach: they allow you to mount ID patches or carry small items on the sleeve, but add a slight amount of lateral bulk compared to a plain sleeve. Elastic cuffs and a hem with quick-adjust toggles let you tune the fit to reduce air infiltration without relying on drawcords or extra velcro.
