Shelter Helikon-Tex Supertarp Polyester Ripstop — Taiga Green

The Supertarp is a universal shelter tarp in coated polyester ripstop, designed by Survivaltech.pl for those who bivouac in variable conditions. With 19 reinforced attachment points, it supports a wide range of configurations on any terrain and in any weather, from a lean-to to a diamond tarp setup, through to a full tent-style enclosure.

The coated ripstop fabric keeps weight down without sacrificing waterproofing: glued seams eliminate the permeation points typical of sewn seams alone, and the attachment points are reinforced to handle cordage tension under load. The trade-off worth knowing: coated polyester ripstop construction is lighter and more packable than silnylon of the same surface area, but it is less elastic under tension and requires more precise pitching to shed rainwater correctly without pooling.

The carry system is dual: a drawstring stuff sack for fast packing even when the tarp is wet, and a zip-closure sleeve with a mesh base that clips to a pack via 9 fabric straps, freeing up internal volume on days when the tarp needs to dry while you move. Cords and poles are not included.
