The Nite Ize S-Biner Stainless Steel #4 is a dual-opening stainless steel carabiner with a rotating gate on each side. Size 4 sits in the middle of the range, suited to securing common gear to belts, packs, MOLLE loops or vehicle attachment points.

Stainless steel construction makes it immune to rust even after prolonged exposure to rain, sweat and field conditions. Compared to aluminium or plastic versions, the steel build offers greater mechanical resistance to lateral loads — the type most commonly encountered when the carabiner is clipped to a pouch or a carry sling.

The dual-opening design is both its main strength and the limitation to keep in mind: the two gates operate independently, allowing two separate points to be connected without one interfering with the other, making clipping and unclipping quick even with gloves on. That free-opening action, however, is not rated for safety loads: the S-Biner is intended for organising and carrying gear, not as a load-bearing element in applications where a failure would have serious consequences.
