The Nite Ize S-Biner Plastic #4 is a dual-opening carabiner made from fibreglass-reinforced nylon, with an S-shaped gate on each end that lets you connect objects to each other or attach gear to fixed anchor points from opposite sides. At 188.77 mm x 41.14 mm x 8.62 mm and just 12 g, this is the size intended for organising medium-weight loads: backpacks, bags, MOLLE systems, bottle carriers, outdoor gear.

The thermoplastic nylon body, reinforced with fibreglass, delivers solid mechanical strength while keeping weight to a minimum. Both gates feature a stainless steel locking mechanism that holds the closed position under normal tension. The rated maximum load is 11.3 kg: enough for organising and carrying accessories, but not appropriate where an accidental release could cause injury — this product is not intended for climbing or mountaineering.

The double-S shape is the defining feature of the design: the two opposing gates allow objects with different attachment axes to be joined without adapters, and the symmetrical structure means loads can be added or repositioned without untying knots or dismantling systems. It is faster than a cord loop and more versatile than a single-gate carabiner, though its working load is lower than an aluminium carabiner of the same size.
