FMA

The FMA MS2000 Functional Distress Marker is a working replica of the strobe emergency marker issued to US special operations forces. The strobe is fully operational and produces the characteristic visual flash signal; the included IR cap is plastic and does not emit infrared light, unlike the original military unit. Power comes from 2 standard AA batteries, not included.

The primary function — the naked-eye-visible flash — works as intended. This makes it useful as a position marker during night exercises, simulated search-and-rescue operations, or outdoor activities where you need to signal your location over distance. Anyone who needs genuine infrared signalling should be aware that the IR cap on this model is decorative: it neither filters nor emits IR light, and cannot be detected by image intensifiers or infrared cameras.

The body closely reproduces the shape and profile of the original MS2000, with a mounting system compatible with the standard attachment points found on tactical vests and MOLLE equipment. This product is intended for training, drills, and outdoor use — not as a certified safety device.
