FENIX AER-05 Remote Switch

The AER-05 is Fenix's remote switch designed for shooters who mount a torch on a long gun and need to operate it without taking their hand off the grip. The flexible polyurethane cable measures 23 centimetres and ends in two separate buttons, each assigned to a specific function.

The round button provides momentary activation with light pressure: the light stays on as long as contact is maintained, which is useful for minimising position disclosure. Pressing it fully switches the torch to constant-on at maximum output, without having to reach back to the torch body. The second button, flat, is dedicated to strobe: if the torch is already on it activates strobe directly; if the torch is off, holding it down enters strobe mode without cycling through the normal modes first. The dual function is practical in the field, but it takes a few practice sessions before it becomes automatic under pressure.

The threaded section that screws onto the torch is machined from A6061-T6 aluminium alloy with Type III hard-anodising, the same specification used on Fenix torches themselves: the joint does not introduce any weak point in the assembly. The seal is rated IP68, so the switch operates in heavy rain or shallow water crossing. Total weight is 40 grams. Included are a velcro strap for attaching the remote to the stock or handguard, and nylon cable ties for routing the cable along the weapon. Those who prefer a Picatinny rail mount can pair it with the Fenix ALG-05 mount (not included). Compatible with Fenix PD36R PRO, PD36 TAC, TK16 V2.0, TK20R V2.0, TK22 TAC and HT30R: it does not work with earlier versions of these models.
