The Z-Tactical zSLX Clarus is a PTT (Push-To-Talk) unit compatible with Kenwood two-pin connector radios, designed for operators working in high-noise environments or who need to communicate with their hands partially occupied. It connects to any earpiece with a standard NATO military connector, sold separately, allowing you to build a modular audio chain suited to your operational context.
The device has two separate buttons, labelled A and B, which in this version do not switch radio frequency electronically: frequency changes must be made manually on the radio itself. Anyone expecting an automatic channel-selection function should factor this in before purchasing, as it affects the operational workflow when working across multiple channels.
Kenwood connector compatibility covers a wide range of handheld radios common in professional, hunting and sport contexts. Use on frequencies requiring a licence — such as professional VHF and UHF bands — remains subject to holding the relevant authorisation: the device itself does not alter the legal requirements applicable to the radio it is connected to.
