The thumb-break retention system follows the UPH pattern used by Warrior Assault Systems: the thumb hooks the upper edge of the holster during the draw stroke and releases the pistol as part of the natural drawing motion, with no separate levers to operate. The adjustable hood allows the cavity to be fitted to pistols of different profiles — from the M93r to the MK23 — keeping the pistol secure during movement without any structural modifications. This retention style is faster than a mechanical locking mechanism and more secure than an open-top pouch, but it requires the operator to train until the movement becomes instinctive: those unfamiliar with it may release the retention inconsistently under stress.

The MOLLE/PALS-compatible mounting system fits a standard duty belt up to 60 mm wide, a MOLLE belt, or a chest carrier without additional adapters. This mounting flexibility allows the holster to be moved between different configurations without purchasing dedicated accessories, which is useful for anyone who changes their loadout depending on the activity.
