The adjustable-tension retention system is the core of the design: tightening or loosening the elastic sets the force required to pull the magazine, adapting the pouch to the specific body of the mag — from slimmer STANAG .308 profiles to the bulkier dimensions of AR-10 platforms and their derivatives. Compared to a rigid snap retention, this approach allows a spent magazine to be reinserted one-handed and without looking, but provides less retention in the event of a fall or sudden movement: a deliberate trade-off that prioritises reload speed over passive security.
