Vector Optics

The Vector Optics MAG 45° cantilever mount is designed for shooters running a magnified primary optic who want a secondary sighting system — red dot or iron sights — immediately available for close-range engagements. The cantilever geometry shifts the secondary optic forward of the rail attachment point, optimising its position relative to the shooter's eye without eating into usable space on the main rail.

The 45° offset is the established standard in dynamic shooting and tactical use: by rotating the rifle a quarter-turn inward, the shooter brings the secondary sight in line with the eye without moving the head from its natural shooting position. The transition is instant and requires neither lifting the hand from the grip nor repositioning. One limitation to keep in mind is that the system works best with a primary optic of modest tube diameter — optics with very wide tubes or pronounced sunshades can reduce the usable window of the offset sight.

The MAG mounting system guarantees return to zero after every removal: a decisive feature when gear is regularly stripped for transport or maintenance. Not having to re-zero every time the mount is reinstalled is a real advantage in operational contexts or competition where setup time matters. Compatible with standard Picatinny rail.

Key points

  • 45° offset for an immediate transition to the secondary optic without changing shooting posture
  • Cantilever geometry that positions the sight forward on the rail, reducing interference with the primary system
  • MAG mount with repeatable return to zero: no re-zeroing after reinstallation
  • Compatible with standard Picatinny rail
  • Matte black finish that limits reflections in direct light
