HIKMICRO Thunder TE25 2.0 Thermal Imager

The Thunder TE25 2.0 is a front-mounted thermal imager designed for hunting and professional use, built around a 12 µm core sensor with 256x192 pixel resolution and a 25 mm objective lens. It is aimed at operators working in low-visibility conditions who need to detect thermal signatures at distance without relying on auxiliary light or illuminators.

The internal OLED display, with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels and a 50 Hz refresh rate, delivers a smooth image even on moving targets, reducing the risk of losing detail during aiming. The sensor sensitivity of less than 35 mK allows the unit to resolve very small temperature differences: in a hunting context this means picking out a stationary animal in undergrowth from its background even when the thermal contrast is minimal. The 25 mm objective enables thermal detection out to 1200 metres: at that range, identification depends on atmospheric conditions and target size, but the detection capability is meaningfully greater than that of shorter-lens variants.

The 2.0 version introduces a magnesium alloy body with IP67 certification and a declared recoil resistance of 1000 G / 0.4 ms, adequate for use on medium-power hunting calibres. The 4400 mAh lithium-ion battery provides up to 10 hours of continuous operation, a useful margin for extended night outings. Five user profiles allow zero settings to be stored for different firearms and recalled without re-zeroing: practical for anyone using the imager across multiple platforms, though it is worth bearing in mind that physically moving the imager between rifles still requires a zero check before trusting the saved data. The recoil-activated recording function automatically captures footage before and after the shot, with 16 GB of internal storage for photos and video with audio. Wi-Fi connectivity allows pairing with the dedicated app.
