The zipper is the point where most sleeping bags lose heat: the Defence 6 addresses this with a dual system — an internal draft tube that isolates the slider from the body, and an external flap that blocks wind and moisture. The foot section is trapezoidal rather than wedge-shaped, following the natural geometry of the foot and preventing insulation compression in the area most critical for heat loss. The two-way zipper with quick-release opening and anti-snag tape allow fast exit even with cold-numbed fingers.
