A clear lens is the right choice when ambient light is already sufficient: it does not alter colour perception of the target and delivers maximum light transmission in covered environments, at dawn or in the evening hours. Those working under direct sunlight or on reflective surfaces will get more benefit from a tinted or mirrored lens.

On the resistance side, the lens passes the ANSI Z80.3 drop ball test, which requires an impact energy above 3 joules to cause failure — a useful benchmark for assessing protection against low-energy fragments and ricochets.
