Adventure Menu

The Adventure Menu Self-heating Capsules Small is a chemical self-heating capsule weighing 30 g, designed for anyone who needs a hot meal in the field without access to a stove, open fire or electricity. Built for airsoft outings, camping and any outdoor activity where weight and convenience matter, it heats up to 500 g of food in a single use, or two portions of 200–250 g in sequence.

It works through an exothermic reaction between calcium oxide and water: just a few centilitres of water are enough to start the process, bringing food to serving temperature in around 12 minutes with no flame, sparks or odours that could compromise field discretion. The practical benefit is straightforward: once the capsule is activated, you are free to pitch a bivouac, reorganise your kit or handle any other task without watching over the heating.

There is, however, one important limitation to bear in mind: the Small capsule works exclusively with the multi-purpose zip pouch included in the Adventure Menu All In set. Without that pouch the heating process cannot be completed, because the reaction takes place inside it. Anyone purchasing the capsule on its own must therefore already have the pouch or obtain it separately — that is the necessary condition for the system to work.
