The Adventure Menu Self-heating Capsule BIG is a 60 g single-use, flameless heater designed for field use without access to a stove or open fire. It heats up to two 500 g portions of pouch meals and is well suited to extended airsoft sessions, hiking and any outdoor activity where weight and logistics matter.

It works through a chemical reaction between calcium oxide, aluminium powder and water: simply add water to the permeable non-woven fabric pouch to trigger the conversion of calcium oxide into calcium hydroxide, which generates enough heat to bring the meal up to serving temperature. No pot, gas canister or power source is needed. One practical limitation to keep in mind: the reaction is single-use and irreversible. Once activated, the capsule must be used to completion — it cannot be paused or reused — so activate it only when the meal is ready to eat.

Its compact size and low weight make it easy to slip into a pack pocket or field kit without adding meaningful load. The BIG version is the right choice when you need to heat twice the quantity of the standard capsule — for example, for two people or a single large-format ration.
