Couldn't load pickup availability
The Night Evolution MPLS 2 is a compact tactical LED light designed to mount on MOLLE gear, Picatinny rail, and helmet. Powered by two CR2016 batteries, it outputs both visible red light and infrared, making it suitable for night operations with night vision devices. Its small footprint means it integrates onto a helmet or plate carrier without adding meaningful bulk.
The choice between red and IR addresses distinct operational needs: red light preserves the eye's scotopic adaptation when reading maps or checking instruments in the dark, while IR output is invisible to the naked eye and only usable with image intensifiers. Operators working in low-visibility environments can select the appropriate mode via the activation button, without any additional tools.
The included mounting system covers three configurations — MOLLE, Picatinny rail, and MICH helmet rail — allowing the light to transfer between different platforms without separate adapters. There is, however, one practical limitation worth noting: the light is optimised for gear-mounted use and is not designed as a handheld torch; the button activation is intended to be operated by the thumb once the light is already positioned on the gear.
Key points
- Dual red and IR output: preserves night vision and works with image intensifiers without modification.
- Powered by two CR2016 batteries, a standard format easy to source in the field.
- Three mounting systems included (MOLLE, Picatinny, MICH helmet rail) for fast transfer between different setups.
- Single-button activation: immediate operation even with gloves on.
- Compact profile that does not meaningfully increase the silhouette of a helmet or carrier.
