Combat shirt Helikon-Tex MCDU NyCo Ripstop

The MCDU is a long-sleeve combat shirt designed for operators and shooters who work with a ballistic plate, chest rig, or tactical vest. The body is made from TopCool 100% polyester, a high-wicking technical fabric that manages moisture and regulates body temperature during intense activity, while the sleeves and mandarin collar are made from NyCo Ripstop 50% cotton / 50% nylon, the standard military fabric that provides abrasion and tear resistance in the areas most exposed to contact with equipment and vegetation.

The choice of two different fabrics reflects a deliberate trade-off: TopCool on the torso is lighter and more breathable than NyCo, but less durable. In the areas covered by the vest or plate carrier, where abrasion is constant and airflow is already blocked by the gear, NyCo holds up better under prolonged wear. On the exposed torso, breathability takes priority and TopCool moves moisture away more effectively. Anyone wearing a ballistic system for hours on end will notice the difference.

The two zip-closure bicep pockets are sized to fit a folded map, a compact GPS unit, or laminated documents, and remain accessible even with the vest on. The loop velcro panels on the shoulders allow identification or national patches to be attached without any additional stitching. The longer rear hem — from 67.5 cm in size XS up to 79.5 cm in size XXXL — keeps the shirt tucked into the trousers during tactical movement.
