The LOWA Water Stop Eco is a water-repellent treatment in a 200 ml spray bottle, formulated for outdoor footwear: hiking boots, hunting boots, and professional footwear used in wet conditions. Its water-based formula and PFC-free composition make it safe to use on sensitive materials without affecting their technical properties.
The treatment forms a barrier that repels water and dirt while keeping leather and fabrics breathable: footwear fitted with a membrane will continue to allow water vapour to escape outward, while external moisture is kept out. It should be noted that this is a water-repellent treatment, not a structural waterproofing solution: it provides effective protection against light rain and mud, but it does not replace an integrated membrane and does not offer the same resistance to prolonged immersion.
The water-based formula contains no PFCs, compounds that research has linked to persistent environmental contamination. This makes the product suitable for regular use when restoring DWR performance — a necessary step for any technical footwear after a certain number of outings — without introducing compounds that are difficult to break down in the environments where you work or hike.
Key points
- Water-based, PFC-free water-repellent treatment: protects without compromising membrane breathability.
- Compatible with leather, synthetic fabrics, and breathable membranes: does not alter colour or material structure.
- Also repels dirt, reducing the frequency of cleaning for footwear in intensive use.
- Spray bottle of 200 ml with a fine, uniform mist applicator for even coverage.
- Environmentally conscious formula suited to those working in natural settings who want to limit the impact of maintenance products.
