Raffia Kicking Mustang KMCS Ghillie Grass — Brown (Dark)

Kicking Mustang KMCS Ghillie Grass raffia is pre-dyed and combed natural plant material, supplied in a 40–50 g pack. It is intended for anyone building or updating a ghillie suit, adding camouflage bulk to a pack or a weapon, or patching worn areas on existing kit. The Brown Dark colour reproduces the look of dry grass and fine twigs typical of open ground and woodland in late season or drought conditions.

Natural raffia breaks up the silhouette by introducing irregular three-dimensional texture: no flat printed fabric achieves the same effect of volume and movement. Compared to synthetic fibres, it absorbs light in a way that is closer to real vegetation and does not produce the plastic sheen that the human eye picks up immediately. The material is supplied already dyed: no painting or further treatment is needed before application.

Attachment is done with 2.5 mm cable ties — not included — passed through the base net or fabric and cinched around small tufts of 5–10 strands cut to the desired length, ideally between 10 and 20 cm. This method is quick and does not damage the base, but requires periodic field checks: natural raffia wears down, compresses and sheds with prolonged use, so exposed tufts need to be replaced over time. The advantage is that each repair is targeted and does not require dismantling the entire ghillie.
