The Helikon-Tex CHICOM Chest Rig is a lightweight, chest-worn load-bearing system inspired by mid-twentieth-century military design, reinterpreted with contemporary materials and geometry. It is aimed at dynamic shooters, operators and shooting enthusiasts looking for a minimal, expandable platform that can be worn over any operational clothing or mounted directly onto a plate carrier.

The core of the system is the triple central pouch, sized for AR15/M4 and double-stack AK magazines, with an open-top design and elastic retention: draws are fast and require no thumb on a snap closure, but this same feature means that at steep angles the magazines rely entirely on elastic tension. Anyone needing stronger retention in physically demanding environments should consider adding velcro or a snap button. The side panels and shoulder straps offer continuous MOLLE/PALS surface for expansion with additional pouches without altering the load-bearing structure.

On the back, a velcro panel allows a sub-pouch or dangler pouch to be attached, increasing available volume without adding bulk to the front. The central panel opens onto an internal flat pocket, useful for documents or organiser inserts. The H-harness adjusts via plastic buckles at the shoulder and waist; the back panel accepts identification patches. The chest rig attaches to a plate carrier via integrated loops, enabling a modular setup without duplicating structure.
