The Boonie Hat MK2 is Helikon-Tex's field hat, made from 220 g/m² rip-stop fabric with a composition of 50% polyester, 48% cotton, 2% elastane: a blend that dries quickly, gives just enough to conform to the head, and weighs only 124 g. It is aimed at anyone who works or operates outdoors in changing conditions and needs a functional headpiece without the bulk.

The full brim provides shade over the face and neck, but it is the combination of fabric and lateral ventilation eyelets that makes the real difference on hot days: air circulates actively rather than building up under the crown. The chin cord with plastic toggle lets you secure the hat under your chin when the wind picks up, so you never have to choose between wearing it and taking it off. The rip-stop material resists snagging on vegetation and gear without adding weight.

The MK2 introduces two hook-and-loop panels for patches, useful for identification or personalisation, and an internal insert in a contrasting colour intended as a visual emergency signal.
