The Prevent L3A is an aramid fibre helmet with a FAST profile, made by FMA for airsoft and tactical training use. Available in two sizes — M-L (52–61 cm circumference) and L-XL (55–64 cm circumference) — it covers a wide range of head sizes through a single internal adjustment system.
The Occ-Dial Liner adjustment system allows continuous fine-tuning of the fit, with no fixed positions to choose between. The result is a stable fit during movement, which matters in airsoft scenarios where the helmet takes repeated impacts and frequent direction changes. Declared weight is 1555 g: heavier than a polymer helmet, but consistent with the aramid construction, which offers a structurally different level of impact resistance compared to plastic composites.
The ARC side rails allow mounting of compatible accessories — tactical headsets, side-mount lights, action cameras — without modification. The front plate with bungee cord is ready for standard NVG adapters. Velcro panels on the shell and side band accept identification patches, IR indicators, and any loop-backed element. The manufacturer states a ballistic impact resistance equivalent to a DAP92A 9 mm steel-core projectile at 360 m/s, but explicitly notes that this helmet is not a certified ballistic device and is not designed to protect against live firearms: it is intended exclusively for airsoft and simulated training use.
