The FENIX ARE-A4 is a smart four-slot charger with fully independent channels, compatible with Li-ion, NiMH and NiCd cells, designed for anyone managing a mixed battery fleet in professional or outdoor use. At 149.5x104x40.5 mm and 265 g, it fits easily into a pack or kit bag without giving up the ability to charge four cells at once.

The four channels operate entirely independently: you can charge a protected 21700 in one slot and an AA NiMH in another at the same time, with no cross-interference between circuits. The CC/CV algorithm delivers 1000 mA per slot and is selected automatically based on the detected chemistry, so there is no need to set a charge profile manually. The LCD display cycles through voltage, current, charge time and cell type for each channel in turn, giving you unambiguous status on every slot.

The charger accepts both mains power at 100–240 V AC and DC input at 12–24 V DC, making the ARE-A4 usable at home, in a vehicle, or connected to a field solar panel. The circuitry includes protection against reverse polarity, short circuit and overtemperature — three conditions that are the most common cause of cell damage in lower-tier chargers, or in worse cases, of uncontrolled thermal events. Compatibility with 26650, 22650, 21700, 20700, 18650, 14500, 16340, RCR123, AAA, AA and C cells covers virtually every rechargeable format in current use across torches, handheld radios and field electronics.
