Aim-O EG1 Red Dot Sight

The Aim-O EG1 is an open red dot sight with 1x magnification designed for fast target acquisition on platforms with a 20 mm Picatinny/Weaver rail. Its aluminium construction and compact profile make it a practical choice for carbines, semi-automatic rifles and tactical shotguns where speed of aim matters more than magnification.

The red dot reticle with adjustable brightness lets you match the intensity to ambient light: turn it down indoors to avoid washout, or raise it in direct sunlight to keep it visible without losing contrast on the target. The anti-reflection coating on the lenses reduces lateral glare that, on an open-tube sight, could be a distraction in the fraction of a second before the shot.

The open-window design is the trade-off to keep in mind: the field of view is wide and target acquisition is very fast because the eye does not need to centre an eyepiece, but the front lens is more exposed to rain, dust and direct impacts than it would be on a closed red dot. This makes it the right choice for close and medium distances where engagement speed takes priority over optical protection. Power comes from a standard CR2032 battery, which is easy to source anywhere.
