The Helikon-Tex Baseball Cap NyCo Ripstop is a baseball cap in NyCo ripstop fabric designed for use in hot conditions, weighing 85 g — light enough to go unnoticed even on the longest days out. NyCo fabric — a nylon-cotton blend in ripstop construction — balances two requirements that often pull in opposite directions: the tear resistance typical of synthetics and the breathability of cotton, which on a cap worn directly against the scalp makes a real difference during hours of intense activity. It is neither waterproof nor water-repellent: the absence of membranes or DWR treatment is a deliberate choice in favour of ventilation, meaning the cap will absorb water in rain but will dry out quickly.

The crown and rear panel feature soft loop velcro panels for attaching ID or morale patches without any sewing. The front panel measures 7×4 cm, the top panel 6×5.5 cm and the rear panel 4.5×4 cm; the rear adjustment strap adds a further usable surface of 8×2.5 cm.
