Aim-O RD-2 Open Red Dot with QD Mount — Black

The Aim-O RD-2 is an open red dot sight with an anodised aluminium body and integrated quick-detach mount, designed for shooters who frequently mount and dismount their optic without losing zero. Measuring 90x43x74 mm and weighing 190 g including the mount, it fits carbines, semi-automatic rifles and pistols with a 20 mm Picatinny rail.

The red dot has an apparent diameter of 2 MOA: fine enough not to obscure a target at medium range, yet visible enough to acquire in under a second at close quarters. The 11 brightness levels allow you to go down to very low output for use in low-light conditions or with night-vision devices, and up to maximum in full sunlight. The trade-off of this open — also called tubeless — format is acquisition speed: the wide window imposes no rigid head position, but offers less mechanical protection to the lenses than a closed body.

The transparent flip-up lens covers protect the optics during transport and stay on during use without obstructing the sight picture. Power comes from a single CR2032 battery, easy to source and replace in the field. The matte anodised aluminium body reduces reflections and keeps the construction light without sacrificing impact resistance.
