The Aim-O XPS 2-0 is an open-frame red dot designed for shooters who need a minimal footprint without giving up a precise aiming point at operational distances up to 100 metres. The aluminium body in a TAN finish blends into desert and arid setups without clashing chromatically. Power comes from a single CR123A battery, a choice that ensures long runtime and easy sourcing in any logistical context.
The open-window design offers a genuine advantage: the field of view is not physically bounded by a tube, so both eyes stay active and peripheral awareness remains intact. This improves situational awareness during dynamic shooting, where binocular vision matters as much as target acquisition speed. The trade-off is greater exposure of the internal optical elements compared to a closed body: the red dot can be affected by lateral reflections in direct backlighting, a condition where a closed red dot performs better.
Mounting is on a 20 mm Picatinny rail via a quick-release lever system that allows tool-free installation and removal while maintaining return to zero. The low mount height keeps a natural sight line on AR carbines and rifles with fixed iron sights, with no riser needed.
